Save the Children is the oldest and biggest independent Non Governmental Organization that works for the defense and the promotion of the rights of children implementing development projects in more than 120 countries. Save the Children República Dominicana is one of the 29 national members of the International Save the Children Alliance. Since 1976 Save’s work has been centered on community development with a focus on children. For more than 30 years the organization has worked in the Dominican Republic to improve the lives of children and their families in approximately 70 remote communities located on the border and in the eastern region of the country. Our work is focused in the areas that most directly impact children: educa-tion, children’s rights, health, nutrition, and community development.
